COCA COLA BOTTLING COMPANY OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
RE: OPENING OF COCA-COLA OCEANSIDE DISTRIBUTION CENTER
Dear Brothers and Sisters:
As you are aware, the Company is planning to open a new Distribution Center in Oceanside, California. The Company has had meetings with both the Orange and Rancho Cucamonga branches, introducing the new facility as well as its Branch Manager. Any member who is interested in transferring to the new facility can apply online at www.cokecce.com/careers.
Teamsters Locals 683 and 952 have scheduled meetings with Coca Cola Management to discuss the opening of the Oceanside facility. It is our belief the Company will attempt to open this facility without first offering bargaining unit employees the opportunity to transfer to and follow any bargaining unit work moved to the Oceanside Distribution Center as a result of its opening.
In accordance with Article 2, Section A. of the current Collective Bargaining Agreement, which states, "The Company agrees to bargain with the Local Unions on subjects of mandatory bargaining." Therefore, the Unions will meet with the Company on Thursday and Friday, December 21 and 22, 2006, to discuss these issues.
We will provide you with updates on this matter as they become available.
