PRESS RELEASE

On Monday February 13, 2006 Teamsters Local 952 Members employed at the Orange County Transportation Authority under the maintenance contract, which covers servicers and mechanics, overwhelmingly rejected a contract offer and directed the negotiating committee to return to the table. The main issue is the inadequacy of the wage increases in terms of keeping up with the high inflation in Southern California. The parties are going to return to bargaining on Thursday March 2, 2006 under the auspices of the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service. Secretary-Treasurer Patrick D. Kelly stated that Athe number one rated transit system in the United States can afford to improve its offer and recognize the hard work and expertise that made them number one just like they have recognized the work of the Executives at OCTA. The Local Union is going to work very hard to get this resolved without a work stoppage. We hope that the Executives and the OCTA Board of Directors do the same thing.@
