Eric was elected Secretary-Treasurer and took office January 1, 2020 when Local 952 members overwhelming supported his “Members First” platform. The 19-year UPS Driver and Shop Steward wanted to return the Local back to basics where the focus is on solid member representation, negotiating strong contracts, improving benefits, and continually implementing ways to help members and their families on and off the job.
Born and raised in a union home, Jimenez believes organized labor is in his DNA. His father is a former steelworker’s union president. “I’ve known from a very early age the many benefits of working in a union job,” Jimenez said. “I’m honored the members of Local 952 put their faith in me and I’m committed to working hard every day to make their lives better.”
A dedicated union activist, Jimenez has been volunteering his time and organizing with Local 952, Joint Council 42 and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters for years. He has been married for eight years and has two children. He and his family live in La Habra.
John joined Secretary-Treasurer Eric Jimenez’s “Members First” slate and was elected President of Local 952 taking office in January 2020. Before joining the Local’s leadership team, John was a driver at Albertsons/Vons in Irvine. The nearly 20-year Teamster has been active for years and served as a Shop Steward assisting fellow members at Albertsons. John is committed to not only providing outstanding representation for the members but also building strength and unity throughout Local 952.
Danny is a 25-year Teamster coming to Local 952 from the grocery industry. He started working with Vons where he spent 22 years, then another 3 years with Albertsons. He was an order selector for 15 years, and also worked as a checker, letdown operator, a put-away fork and a loader. Danny proudly served 10 years as a Shop Steward at Vons and Albertsons, and also was a 10-year member with the TNBC. Danny has always liked challenging management on behalf of our members, and letting our members see they have someone who will fight for them at all times, whether terminations, suspensions or write ups. As the Local’s Vice President and Business Agent, that same fighting spirit and drive continues today. Danny believes frequent visits and constant communication helps to keep him grounded and builds a strong relationship with Local 952 members.
Eliazar is a driver for First Transit/OCTA Contract Base 6. He’s been a Teamster member for 5 years. The active member says he is serving as a Local 952 Trustee so he could help put pride back into the membership and make the union strong again under the leadership of Eric Jimenez and the “Members First” slate.
Keith has been a Teamster member for 13 years and works at CVS pharmacy. He has served as a CVS Shop Steward and been assisting his fellow Local 952 members for 10 years. He’s been an active member for years and is serving as a Local Trustee because he believes members should be involved and have a voice in the their union.
Al has been a Teamster member for 18 years. He is has been an Orange County Transportation Authority Driver for the last 14 years, and is currently serving as a Shop Steward at OCTA. Al is active in the Local because he believes the union belongs to the members and standing together, 952 can be a strong and united Local.
Shawn has been a Teamster for 15 years and works at the Coca-Cola warehouse in Orange. He has served at the warehouse Shop Steward for five years. An active members, he’s serving as the Local’s Trustee because he wanted to bring strength and solidarity back to the Local under the leadership of Eric Jimenez.
